At SAFE® we deal with training and certification for river rescue and prevention for people working near waterways, for professional rescuers, and for river and outdoor enthusiasts and professionals in general.

We offer different levels of training and have structured our courses into four categories.

FAQ

It originated as a standard for river rescue in the early 1980s in the United States, California.
Established as the European River Rescue standard in 2009, it develops the US standards to the requirements according to European legislation.Today it provides specialised training programmes with relevant European certifications for:

  • Occupational safety for riverbed workers
  • River Rescue
  • Rope work
  • Confined space
  • Ice rescue

It was founded in 1992 as a kayaking and rafting centre in the upper Aosta Valley, in Pré Saint Didier.

Today it has become an all-round outdoor centre that provides recreational activities and vocational training programmes for:

  • Rafting, kayaking, canyoning
  • Paragliding
  • Adventure travel and expeditions around the world
  • Safety and River Rescue

Soccurred Alluvial and Fluvial Europe. It was born in 1999 from a project by Totem Adventure.

He is involved in river safety and rescue training.

It is the official training provider of Rescue 3.

The experience of the founders and some of their collaborators dates back to the early 1990s, with log and debris removal from dams following floods, in-river searches (SAR), live water rescue, consultancy, work at heights and on ropes in river environments, and training of specialised personnel in Italy and abroad.

RESCUE 3™ Europe certifications follow European standards. They are officially recognised in 22 countries as the standard for river rescue and safe working along waterways, for the following users:

  • Rescue professionals (fire brigade, civil defence, military...)
  • Professionals working along the banks or in the riverbed
  • Monitoring technicians (ichthyofauna Macrobenthos, Macrophytes, IQM, IFF...), environmental technicians (EIA, SEA...), hydrogeological risk assessments (meteorologists, seismologists...), flow measurements, operators of hydroelectric power stations, water intakes, river construction sites...
  • River activity guides and instructors (rafting, kayaking, canyoning...)

RESCUE 3™ certifications have obtained OSHA, NFPA, DEFRA approval.

Yes, we are registered with MEPA - (Totem Adventure SSD ARL - VAT no.: 02753920020 ).

Mainly in Spain, France, Switzerland Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia, UK, Georgia, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka.

Our instructors speak Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Nepalese. For German we have a translator.

All the courses we offer follow a standardised syllabus provided by the Rescue 3 Europe certifications for river rescue and riverbed safety.

Our aim is to respond to your specificities as best we can. Rescue 3 Europe allows us a certain flexibility, as long as we stay within the standards.

Yes, before each training, we agree on a meeting with one of your managers who will explain to us in detail the work you do, your critical issues, and together we will assess which topics to put the emphasis on, so that we can delve more deeply into what you really need.

The meeting takes place online and is free of charge, as is the study of the customised programme.

If you want a course on a specific date decided by you, yes.

If you are flexible, you can participate in courses open to the public that we have in calendar.

By choosing this option, the cost is per person, we take care of the group and you have no additional expenses (instructor travel, board and lodging, inspections, etc.).

'Your home':                Check the requirements below

No problem. We just need to check if the area is suitable for the course.

The first requirements are:

  • Classroom, possibly adjacent to the river
  • River section of WW I-II grade of difficulty for SWIW
  • River section of WW II-III grade of difficulty for SRT
  • River section of WW III+ (IV-) degree of difficulty for WRT
  • Possibility of showers and changing rooms (for the comfort of learners)

We can accommodate up to 60 participants at the same time, providing them with complete PPEbut we strongly recommend a maximum of 20 people per course to ensure quality. The instructor/trainee ratio is 2/12, 3/20.

We deal in training and not in selling equipment, but we can advise on which PPE to buy by providing direct contacts of specialised suppliers with the requirements for selling to PAs.

In addition to being highly specialised in river rescue and flood survival, SAFE instructors work as rafting and kayaking guides organising expeditions around the world and are experts in rope work such as tree climbers, off shore rope access.
